Local Only Buckets

For some use cases, you might want to make sure your data never leaves your device. This means you have no backups, and certainly functionality will not be available, but for some use cases that might be worth the tradeoff.

Memory Encryption

For buckets with more sensitive data, it would be great to be able to enable encryption of the data within them. This would limit the functionality that can be provided within such a bucket, but for some use cases it would be worth the tradeoff.

Mobile App

Currently, MemoryPlugin supports Android and iOS with the browser extension, but on Android, this requires the use of a specific browser (Kiwi Browser), and mobile browsers can feel clunky to work with. We are planning to come up with a mobile app that delivers the same experience as our extensions but you will be able to access all supported chat platforms in one location. This also gives us more freedom to improve functionality in the future.

Ability for AI to Prompt User for Manual Retrieval or Search

If the AI knows that there’s stuff in them there buckets, it would be nice if it was able to direct us to pour one out or be searched through.

Allow connecting Notion workspace

This would allow you to pull in data not just from your memory but from things you’ve done in Notion

Smart Onboarding

We want to make the process of getting started with MemoryPlugin smoother. Adding new memories can be tedious, what if we could guide you through the process? We plan to introduce a workflow where new memories can be created simply by talking to an AI on the MemoryPlugin website. It will keep prompting you for details that will automatically create new memories. You remain fully in control of your memories and will be able to delete or edit any memories created through the onboarding chat.

expiracy of a temporal memory

Memores could be important for shorter terms (events details, etc) or long terms (work preferences, plans) or for “etherity” (birthdays, conditions, etc). Expired memores could go in “archive_ ” bucket. IT is good for the user and also for the service.

Add Unexclude button to memories

We can quickly exclude large chunks of memories, but not put them back into play.

Please add support for Simtheory

Either through providing better MCP support or working towards a native plugin for SImtheory would be great.

Memory Updating and Consolidation

As new memories are created, we want related older memories to be updated. If there is a memory that says, “I am 23 years old”, and then you add a memory that says “I turned 24”, the memory should get updated to “I am 24 years old” instead of having two memories with conflicting information. Consolidation will automatically group related memories. If you have a memory that says “I like pizza”, and then you add another that says “I like pasta”, they can be combined into a single memory that says “I like pizza and pasta”. These make memory more efficient, and enables the memories to evolve with you in a more natural fashion. Conflicting information can also confuse the AIs, and this solves that problem.

Smart Memory

As you add more and more memories, they can start to exceed the limits of the context window of various chat platforms. But even before that, they can add irrelevant details to the chat which could confuse the AI, and on platforms like Claude where your usage limits are based on token usage, having a lot of text from memories in the context window can lead to using up your limits sooner. Smart Memory solves for this by creating high level overviews of memories within a bucket, and enabling the AI to fetch more detailed memories if the conversation calls for it. This might look like the following: You have a high level overview that says: “User works with Python and JavaScript” And it will also say something like: “I also know about the specific frameworks they use” Now if you start talking about programming, the AI will load the detailed memories, otherwise it will use just the overview. This keeps conversations focused and also lets you have more memories within a bucket before context windows become a worry.

Bulk Operations

You can now perform operations on multiple memories at once! This includes the ability to delete and move memories across buckets. No more one operation at a time!

Import ChatGPT memories in one-click

Now, you can import your memories from ChatGPT into MemoryPlugin with a single click! Just install our browser extension, open ChatGPT, open the page that lists your memories, and you will see a button called Sync Memories. This will add any memories that are in your ChatGPT account to your MemoryPlugin account! You do not need to worry about duplicate memories and can run this sync process routinely as required.

Memory Buckets

Until recently, MemoryPlugin was a flat list of memories with no options for organization. With the introduction of Memory Buckets, you can now group related memories together. You can have a “Personal” vs. “Work” bucket, or a “Project 1” and a “Project 2” bucket. This lets you have more memories, isolate related memories from unrelated ones, and have more control over what memories you want to use in any given chat. All memories will go by default into a General bucket, and our extensions and APIs remain backwards compatible and continue to work without Buckets as well.

Auto inject memories into chats with browser extension

Having to click a button on each new chat can get tedious and easy to forget to do it. Automatic injection would make the whole experience much more seamless.

Edit profile name

Right now it seems MemoryPlugin draws the profile name from the email address. I’d be nice to be able to change that name (top right corner)
